Also the pattern is not the most flattering and will make even skinny people look fat. Better off with Pearl Izumi. That said, it's ok for cooler weather and races when you need freedom of movement as it is as light as a feather.

As other reviewers have noted, the fabric appears to be lighter in weight than the material used in my 10+ years old Levis 550s, which were not stonewashed. I do not know if the weight difference is attributable to the stonewash processing. Nonetheless the fit is what I expected. I would note also that the bottom legs in the 2009s are wider than those of my older pair. All told, the jeans seem to be of reasonable quality and fit.
